No Doubt!

No Doubt was amazing last night! Unfortunately we missed the Sounds and got there a few songs into Paramore's set. That was disappointing, but No Doubt was so fabulous! Hearing the bands say "Yay New Mexico!" Or "Louder New Mexico!" doesn't sound right. Concerts in Detroit are just better, and more organized. The Journal Pavilion sucks with their parking and the entrance. It's so far. DTE has a crappy entrance, but I feel like Detroit's just know how to handle it better.

Almost had 10,000 step yesterday

Lunch and Dinner, May 26

Lunch yesterday -
Had lunch with Stephanie at Body. It was wonderful! We had a work meeting after lunch and were there until 5pm.
I had Chicken Curry. It had many vegetables and was delicious. For dessert I had a raw chocolate chip cookie, which was a much healthier version than the raw cookie dough I might consume at home.

For dinner last night -
4 oz Enchilada Chicken (we just love that recipe!)
Broccoli
1 cup sherbet

Jon and I went on a walk yesterday, but I still only had 6800 steps, boo. I'll try much harder today to get my steps in.

Relaxing weekend

Jon and I went to Angel Fire Sunday and Monday. His Aunt and Uncle have a home there, a beautiful home! It was so nice to get out of the city and be up there, "up north" some might say. Isabelle and Mark cooked for us a ton, so the diet wasn't very successful this weekend. We did go on a hike yesterday, about 3/4 of a mile, but there was some vertical incline, so it was a good workout, especially seeing as we were at 9000 feet.

We just left Presley at home with some extra food and plenty of water. When we got home last night, about 8pm, he was sitting in the kitchen window. He had eaten all of his food and was acting so hungry. Poor little guy, I hope he didn't eat all of his food on Sunday.

I finished Steph's birthday present over the weekend, a clutch, and made two coin purses from the left over yarn, which I need to line and add a zipper.

Breakfast today
1 cup multigrain cheerios and 1/2 cup milk (170 calories)
Cup of green tea, unsweetened

2 egg whites and chorizo on an English muffin

Lunch
1/2 slice of pizza from Sam's Club (which is like a normal slice)
Diet Coke

Dinner
Enchilada Chicken (162 calories)
Cucumber wedges (40 calories)
refried beans

Orange juice, fruit punch and tequila

Jon and I went to see Terminator today. It was ok, but I haven't seen the others. Maybe I would have enjoyed it more if I had. We saw Angels and Demons earlier this week was awesome! Followed the book really well. Makes me want to visit Rome and especially the Vatican.

Only about 3000 steps today. I've been sitting on the couch and knitting most of the day, and also sitting at the movies. I'm making a clutch purse for Stephanie, and started one for myself too.

Dinner May 22

Dinner yesterday evening

Jon and I went to La Choza, and we had never been before. Quite good, split a
Chicken Enchilada dinner and a Caesars Salad

About 8500 steps yesterday, but I forgot the pedometer when we went out last night, so I might have had close to the recommended 10,000.

My awesome new purse!

I just finished it yesterday! It's from a pattern in Stitch and Bitch. Love it! The photo doesn't show it's true colors very well though, so the other photo is of it in process. It's purple and black in case you can't tell. I'm going to sew a lining for it this weekend so it is more secure and not as stretchy.

Time for a change

I've been pretty sick of my weight for months now and I really want to lose weight, 40 -45 pounds to be exact, basically what I was when I graduated high school. I am going to Kappa Delta Convention at the end of June and would love to lose 10 pounds before I go.

So far I have bought a pedometer and am keeping tracks of my steps. I usually get close to the 10,000 recommended a day, but need to make an effort to get all of the steps in. I have been taking walks around town during short breaks from work and the other night Jon and I walked around the apartments before picking up our mail. This weekend we will be hiking in Bandilier, and tonight and tomorrow will get short walk in.

I plan on renewing my gym membership on Tuesday, and going at least 3 times a week. I've also been trying to eat better. Leesa bought me the Biggest Loser cook book and so far Jon and I have made two dinners from that. They were really good! And I've been weighing my food on a scale Leesa gave me. I've also been watching a show on Lifetime called Cook Yourself Thin and they have wonderful recipes! I made this Quiche over the weekend, substituting broccoli for mushrooms.

I am going to begin documenting what I eat. I think if I do this I feel more accountable and won't snack as much and eat so much junk.

So for breakfast today I had
1 cup multigrain Cheerios (120 calories)
1/2 cup milk (70 calories)
1 cup cranberry Green Tea
Multi vitamin
2 Glucosamine (for joints)

10:30am - Smart Popcorn (120 calories)

Lunch - Salad
2 cups spinach
1/2 cup tomatoes
1/4 cup cucumbers
1/4 cup brocolli
2 tsbp fat free dressing (60 calories)
